Mitsubishi Materials is launching a new drill bit series - MNS. These are one of the world's first drill bits with four cooling holes through the tool body. MNS are a series of uncoated carbide drill bits operating at high feed rates and extremely reliable when working with aluminum alloys.
The widespread use of aluminum products in today's marketplace is forcing manufacturers to seek new and more efficient processing methods. In response, Mitsubishi Materials has specifically developed the MNS series of drill bits.
The drills use four cooling holes, two on each feather. The hole positions are precisely chosen to allow the cutting edges to receive sufficient coolant in the cutting process and to avoid material sticking when drilling deep holes with a single-pass drilling cycle.
The MNS series of drill bits are manufactured in diameters from 3 mm to 20 mm, with all drill bits smaller than 4.5 mm having two cooling holes and all drill bits larger than 4.5 mm having four.
